13-Year-Old Dies After Being Found Unresponsive in Discovery Cove Pool
A 13-year-old girl, Anna Beaumont, has died after being found unresponsive in a pool at Discovery Cove theme park in Orlando, Florida, on Tuesday, police said.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a call at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday regarding an unresponsive teen at the popular all-inclusive resort. Beaumont was discovered in one of the park's many pools and was immediately transported to the hospital in critical condition.
She was pronounced dead at the hospital on Wednesday. The medical examiner’s office confirmed that Beaumont died from accidental drowning. The Orange County Sheriff's Office stated that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Discovery Cove, a sister park of SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica Orlando, offers guests experiences such as swimming with dolphins and snorkeling with tropical fish in a lush, tropical setting, according to its website.
