18-Year-Old Killed and Friend Injured as Air Conditioner Unit Falls from Second Floor in Central Delhi

An 18-year-old named Jitesh was killed on Saturday when an air conditioner unit fell from the second floor and struck him in Central Delhi. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. in the Doriwalan area under Desh Bandhu Gupta police station jurisdiction.

Jitesh was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead upon arrival. His friend, 17-year-old Pranshu, who was with him, sustained injuries and is receiving treatment; he is currently unable to provide a statement.

A video of the tragic event, which has since gone viral, shows Jitesh and Pranshu on a scooter moments before the unit fell.

The forensic team has investigated the scene, and police have filed an FIR under sections 125(a) (endangering life or personal safety) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is ongoing.
