90s Rock Legend Dies At 57 Of Diabetes Complications


Michael Ward, the esteemed guitarist of the renowned rock band The Wallflowers, known for their tremendous success in the 1990s, has tragically passed away at the age of 57. His wife shared a heartfelt message on the band’s Facebook page to announce the legendary guitarist's death.


"It is with tremendous sorrow that I inform you of Michael Ward's passing. Complications from diabetes claimed his life last night, leaving us all in shock and overwhelmed with grief. At this moment, this is all I can manage to convey. Please take the time to express your love to those who mean the world to you."


Aside from his notable role in The Wallflowers, Ward collaborated with a myriad of artists including Sara Bareilles, Ben Harper, John Hiatt, and School of Fish. He contributed significantly to two albums, "Bringing Down the Horse" and its sequel "Breach." "Bringing Down the Horse" achieved 4x Platinum status and featured the hit single "One Headlight," which garnered two Grammy awards in 1998 for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
