A 400 Level Female University Student Missing For 3 Days Found Dead
A female student from the University of Abuja, Murjanatu Zubairu, has been reported missing while en route to school. Alhaji Zubairu Jibrin Yewuti, her uncle and former vice chairman of Kwali Area Council of the FCT, informed our reporter of this in a phone call on Sunday morning.
He mentioned that Murjanatu is a 400-level student in the Faculty of Education, majoring in Arts Education at the university. According to him, she resides with her parents in Piwoyi and left home for school on Friday morning. However, she hasn’t been reachable since then as her phone is turned off.
“It was her parents who called me to find out if Murjanatu came to my place, as efforts to reach her on the phone remained futile since she left home at Piwoyi on her way to school. I told them she didn’t come to my house. I also tried to reach her phone too but it was switched off,” he said.
Zubairu mentioned that the family has notified both the university management and security agencies about the situation and appealed to the public to inform the university or the nearest police station if they have any information about her whereabouts.
In response to a text message, SP Adeh Josephine, the spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, replied, “I will find and then get back to you later.”
Sadly, Usman Garba Fodio, another family member, confirmed on Monday, April 29, in a Facebook post that Murjanatu was found dead. Details about her death are still unclear, but it is known that she was involved in a motor accident after leaving school on Friday.
