Actor Arrested in Texas for Allegedly Stabbing Hollywood Makeup Artist Girlfriend Over 20 Times
Nick Pasqual, a 34-year-old actor, was arrested in Texas while attempting to flee to Mexico after allegedly stabbing his estranged girlfriend, award-winning Hollywood makeup artist Allie Shehorn, more than 20 times.
Pasqual allegedly broke into Shehorn's Sunland, California, home around 4:30 a.m. on May 23 and brutally attacked her, inflicting multiple slashes to her neck, arms, and abdomen. The 35-year-old artist, known for her work on “Rebel Moon” and “Mean Girls,” was discovered later that day by her surrogate mother, Christine White, in a scene described as gruesome.
“This is not the kind of thing that should happen to anybody,” White told KTLA. “You don’t think this is ever going to happen to you. I found her and I had to go into the bedroom where it happened. That wasn’t a pretty sight.”
Pasqual has been charged with attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary with a person present, and injuring a partner, among other charges. He is accused of inflicting great bodily injury under circumstances involving domestic violence. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in state prison.
Shehorn had filed a restraining order against Pasqual days before the attack, citing multiple instances of assault, including being attacked with a belt, having doors broken down, suffering a concussion, and being raped and choked.
After the attack, Shehorn was rushed to the hospital and placed in the ICU in critical condition, undergoing multiple surgeries. An arrest warrant with a bail set at $1,075,000 was issued for Pasqual, who was captured at the US-Mexico border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca.
“My thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with the victim in this horrific incident,” Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón stated. “Our office, including our Bureau of Victim Services, extends our support and resources to her as she embarks on the long and difficult journey of healing from both the physical and emotional trauma inflicted upon her. We will ensure that the individual responsible for this egregious act is held accountable for their actions.”
Shehorn, who has been making positive steps towards recovery, was moved out of the ICU on Tuesday. A fundraising page set up to help cover her medical and rehabilitation expenses has raised over $90,000 of the $100,000 goal.
“It’s still a very long road but she is facing it with courage and determination,” makeup artist Jed Dornoff wrote on the GoFundMe page, along with a photo of Shehorn standing with the assistance of hospital staff and a walker.
Shehorn’s work includes numerous popular films, and she has won several awards for her makeup and special effects contributions, particularly in horror movies.
