Adamawa police arrest butcher for stabbing wife To death


The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested Ibrahim Abubakar, a 33-year-old butcher residing in Sabon Gari-Futy, Girei Local Government Area, for fatally stabbing his 25-year-old wife, Hajara Sa’adu.


SP Suleiman Nguroje, the state Police Public Relations Officer, shared this information in a statement released on the command’s official account on Tuesday.


According to the statement, "On April 8, 2024, the Adamawa State Police Command apprehended Ibrahim Abubakar, a 33-year-old man, for stabbing his 25-year-old wife, Hajara Sa’adu, to death. The suspect, a butcher from Sabon Gari-Futy in Girei Local Government Area, inflicted severe stab wounds on the victim's back with a sharp knife during a domestic altercation, leading to her tragic demise."


The statement further detailed the events, mentioning that the suspect accused his wife of taking his phone, sparking a heated argument that culminated in the fatal stabbing. The incident occurred around 4:30 am on April 8, 2024.


Following a report from the deceased's father, the police conducted a preliminary investigation, gathering material evidence at the crime scene that incriminated the suspect. Remarkably, the suspect confessed to the crime voluntarily, expressing remorse for his actions and acknowledging the tragic loss of the mother of their child.
