After son blurts out ‘I killed my mother,’ 82-year-old woman found buried under living room couch at condo where blood was ‘smeared on the walls’
An 82-year-old woman was discovered dead and buried under a couch in her Holland, Pennsylvania condo over the weekend. This grim discovery followed the arrest of her son, who had driven to Washington, D.C., and allegedly attacked police while naked, proclaiming, “I killed my mother,” according to Bucks County prosecutors.
Authorities received a call on Sunday, Father’s Day, from the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., about 49-year-old William “Billy” Michael Ingram's arrest. Ingram had reportedly attacked a police officer and a police car with a skateboard while naked, subsequently confessing to the murder of his mother, Dolores Ingram.
Following this confession, Bucks County authorities conducted a welfare check at Dolores Ingram’s condo on Beacon Hill Drive. They found clear signs of a crime scene: blood smeared on the window sill, walls, and floor, and furniture in disarray. In the living room, amid a pile of clothes, plates, towels, and other items, officers discovered a foot sticking out from under a couch. The foot was cold to the touch and appeared to belong to an elderly woman. There were no signs of life.
A neighbor, Michelle, reported hearing loud banging early Saturday morning. Reviewing her security footage, she saw William Ingram running shirtless from the apartment at 1:42 a.m. Hours later, he was seen leaving the residence with a shirt on and carrying a duffel bag. He stole his mother’s Honda Civic and was later apprehended in D.C.
As of Monday, William Ingram remained in custody in Washington, D.C. Pennsylvania investigators are awaiting autopsy results and have charged Ingram with theft, receiving stolen property, and unauthorized use of his mother’s car.
Neighbors, shocked by the violence, described Dolores Ingram as a kind woman often seen tending to her flowers. Brandon Garrett, a local resident, called the incident “unusual” and “rare” for their community.
