Anthony Joshua brutally knocks out Francis Ngannou in second round

In a thrilling heavyweight bout in Saudi Arabia, Anthony Joshua secured a decisive victory over Francis Ngannou with a devastating knockout in the second round.

Joshua, the British boxer, dominated the fight from the start, sending Ngannou to the canvas twice before delivering the final blow at 2:38 of the second round with a powerful right hand. Ngannou, the former UFC champion, remained unconscious on the canvas for over a minute and required oxygen, as reported by the DAZN broadcast.

This win marks Joshua's fourth consecutive victory (28-3) following his previous losses to Oleksandr Usyk. Reflecting on his performance, Joshua expressed uncertainty about reaching his peak but emphasized his commitment to continuous improvement.

For Ngannou, the defeat was a significant setback. Despite his impressive pro debut against Tyson Fury and a competitive loss to him, he struggled to find his footing against Joshua, the two-time world champion.

Joshua acknowledged Ngannou's fighting skills, expressing admiration for his bout with Fury and his desire to challenge himself against such formidable opponents. However, once the fight commenced, Ngannou spent considerable time on the canvas, unable to match Joshua's dominance.

Despite the defeat, Joshua praised Ngannou as a great champion and affirmed his belief in his ability to bounce back. With this victory, Joshua adds another knockout to his impressive career record of 25 knockouts.
