Bandits in Kaduna's Gonin Gora area have demanded a ransom of N40 trillion, 11 Hilux vans, and 150 new motorcycles for the release of 16 abducted residents.

John Yusuf, a community leader, revealed this, expressing incredulity at the demand's magnitude.

Yusuf stated that the bandits struck twice within four days, kidnapping a total of 16 people.

He highlighted the need for a military base to counter the criminals, citing the expansive, bushy terrain facilitating their attacks.

Commending the Nigerian Army's efforts despite being overstretched, Yusuf emphasized the urgency for proactive government intervention to curb the menace.

Previously, bandits attacked Anguwan Auta in Gonin Gora, killing two and abducting three. Subsequently, they returned, seizing 13 more individuals.

The community protested the first attack, urging swift government action.
