Bandits kill pastor in Kaduna
Bandits in Kaduna State have tragically killed Reverend Mennasah Ibrahim, a pastor affiliated with the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA).
Reports indicate that the clergyman was ambushed and murdered while returning from an official church duty in Kurebe, located in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
The Christian Association of Nigeria, Gure Branch, along with the family of the deceased, is demanding justice for Rev. Ibrahim. Prior to his untimely demise, he served as a pastor at the Kaduna Central District Church Council (KCDCC) under ECWA.
In a joint press statement signed by his family and the CAN Chairman of Gure Branch, Rev. Yahaya Kinge, they have called upon Governor Uba Sani’s administration and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership to assist in ensuring justice for the slain pastor.
The statement highlights the frustration felt by Nigerian youth and women who have been direct victims of banditry and insurgency, emphasizing the government's failure to address the continuous loss of innocent lives.
"We can no longer endure being pushed to the brink," the statement expressed. As of now, neither the Kaduna State Police Command nor the state government has issued any official statement regarding the incident.
The deceased pastor's remains have been taken to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna, Nigeria, for further procedures.
