Bandits kill two, abduct 16 in Kaduna

Reports indicate that bandits attacked Gidan Busa in Doka ward of Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State, on Friday night, resulting in the deaths of two residents and the abduction of 16 others. According to an anonymous source, five individuals sustained gunshot wounds and are presently undergoing treatment at an undisclosed medical facility in the vicinity.

This incident follows the recent elimination of Isyaku Boderi, a notorious bandit responsible for orchestrating several high-profile attacks, including the abduction of Yauri schoolgirls, the raid on Greenfield University, and the breach of the Nigerian Defence Academy. Boderi and his cohorts were engaged and neutralized by troops from the 1 Division, Nigerian Army, in the Bada/Riyawa general area of Chikun and Igabi Local Government Areas of Kaduna State on Wednesday.

However, on Friday night, bandits once again targeted Gidan Busa, unleashing indiscriminate gunfire that claimed the lives of two individuals and resulted in the abduction of at least 16 residents. The source revealed that the assault occurred around 11:30 pm while the villagers were asleep.

Detailing the attack further, the source mentioned that in the household of Alhaji Hassan, eight individuals, including his wife and children, were abducted, leading to the deaths of one of his sons and a female. The incident, characterized by intense gunfire, left several others with gunshot wounds, currently undergoing medical treatment.

As of yet, there has been no official confirmation from either the state government or the state police command. When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, stated that he was in transit and would communicate with the relevant authorities before providing further information.
