Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun to step down

Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun is set to step down at the end of the year, as announced by the company on Monday.

This leadership change follows a notable safety incident on an Alaska Airlines flight in January, where a door plug dislodged from Boeing's 737 Max 9 aircraft during flight, leading to significant repercussions.

In his statement on Monday, Calhoun acknowledged the significant challenges Boeing is currently facing.

"We are under intense scrutiny from around the globe, and I am confident that we will emerge from this period as a stronger organization," Calhoun stated.

"Our focus remains steadfast on completing the initiatives we have undertaken to restore stability to our company after navigating through extraordinary difficulties over the past five years. Safety and quality will continue to be our top priorities in all our endeavors."
