Boeing Plane Skids Off Runway At Senegal Airport, Flights Suspended
Transair Senegal's Boeing 737-300 (6V-AJE, built in 1994) suffered serious damage when it overshot the landing runway at Dakar-Intl Airport (GOBD), Senegal.
The left wing and engine caught fire, resulting in unspecified injuries among the 73 passengers. However, all passengers were successfully evacuated alive.
Flights at Senegal's main airport near Dakar were suspended following the incident. A night-time video circulating on social media depicted the plane off the runway, its wing covered in fire-suppressing foam.
