Brit tourist, 59, dies on flight while sitting next to his wife as they were flying from Falklands to Chile

A British tourist tragically passed away while traveling from the Falkland Islands alongside his wife. The 59-year-old gentleman was aboard a LATAM flight bound for Punta Arenas in southern Chile, with plans for a subsequent connection to Santiago de Chile.

Upon the aircraft's arrival at Carlos Ibanez del Campo Airport on Saturday, law enforcement officers from the homicide unit met the plane. Deputy Commissioner Diego Díaz informed local media that the British tourist's demise occurred during the flight, with no evidence indicating foul play. Mr. Díaz further stated that the man's wife, who was accompanying him, revealed he had several pre-existing health conditions.

A post-mortem examination scheduled for today or tomorrow is anticipated to confirm natural causes as the cause of death. At present, the whereabouts of the deceased tourist's wife remain unclear.
