Britney Spears and Sam Asghari finalize divorce
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have finalized their divorce after eight months since it was initially disclosed that they were separating.
Documents exclusively obtained by Page Six reveal that the former couple upheld the terms of their prenuptial agreement. Spears will retain "miscellaneous jewelry" and personal items, along with earnings acquired before, during, and after their marriage, as per the documents.
Furthermore, court documents specify additional property assets that will be divided according to their prenup. These documents were filed at a Los Angeles court late Wednesday night and await a judge's signature to become official.
A source informed Page Six, "Britney is continuing to turn the page — the stories of her going broke are ridiculous and demonstrably false."
The divorce settlement was reportedly resolved amicably, largely due to the "ironclad prenup." Representatives for Spears and Asghari did not immediately respond to Page Six's requests for comment.
Last August, sources confirmed that the pop superstar, 42, and the fitness trainer-turned-actor, 30, had separated after 14 months of marriage amid claims of infidelity.
Asghari officially filed for divorce from Spears on Aug. 16, citing "irreconcilable differences" and requesting spousal support and attorney fees.
Spears enlisted the services of celebrity family law attorney Laura Wasser and former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart, who aided in her release from a 13-year conservatorship.
Asghari, on the other hand, hired divorce attorney Neal Hersh, who stated that his client had yet to determine the full nature of the separate property assets and obligations.
Following their split, Asghari expressed well-wishes for Spears, emphasizing their ongoing respect and love for each other.
Despite initial reports of a turbulent breakup, Spears and Asghari appeared to resolve their divorce amicably, reaching agreements on custody matters for their pets. They did not have any children together.
Spears and Asghari married in June 2022 after nearly six years of dating, marking Spears' third marriage after previous unions with Jason Alexander and Kevin Federline.
