California college student Noelle Lynch, 23, vanishes as her cell phone is found at LAX
A Sacramento State student left her parents' Southern California home in a "difficult state of mind," was involved in a car accident, and has not been seen or heard from since April 3, according to her family.
Noelle Lynch, 23, departed her parents' residence under distressing circumstances, her father Mark Lynch informed SFGate. The sequence of events began on April 1, when she initially left in a vulnerable state. The following day, at around 3 or 4 a.m., she was reportedly in an accident in Los Angeles. Subsequently, Lynch and her mother planned to meet at a hotel near LAX airport, but she failed to arrive.
Around noon on April 3, Lynch contacted her mother from a "strange person's phone," although her communication was described as nonsensical, and that was the last time her parents heard from her.
Surveillance footage captured the college student walking from an Inglewood apartment, approximately six miles from LAX, around 5 p.m. on April 3, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department. Her belongings were found in the apartment, and her phone was located at the Southwest ticket counter at LAX airport. However, it remains unclear whether she boarded a plane.
"This is very out of character. She has had a tough time, but she has always called," expressed her father, emphasizing the unusual nature of the situation.
Lynch was last seen wearing a dark T-shirt, green sweatpants with a military logo, and white sneakers. She stands about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs approximately 125 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes.
Efforts to locate Lynch have intensified, with family, friends, and missing persons groups sharing her story and distributing flyers with relevant information. As the search enters its second week, concerns for her well-being continue to grow.
