California Subway manager attacked by customer demanding extra meat on his sandwich: ‘What are you going to do, hit me over ham?’

Larios was left with a black eye and swollen cheek.
Larios claimed her injuries have forced her to remain away from work for more than a week since the attack, which has put stress on her family's finances.

An angry Subway customer caused chaos at a store in Madera, Calif. after a dispute over extra meat on his sandwich, leading to severe injuries for General Manager Monique Larios and financial strain on her family.

The incident unfolded on May 1 when the customer, George Sandoval, insisted on receiving double the meat he had paid for, specifically 12 slices of ham instead of the 6 he had purchased. Despite the store's evidence of his original order, Sandoval became aggressive and physically attacked Larios.

George Sandoval was caught on camera punching Monique Larios at a Subway shop in Madera, Calif. on May 1.

Larios, standing at 4-foot-11, was overpowered by the much larger Sandoval, who stood at 6-foot-5 and weighed nearly 400 pounds. As he assaulted her, a brave customer intervened, pulling Sandoval away and allowing Larios and other workers to seek safety.

Sandoval was later arrested and charged with battery, but the repercussions of his actions lingered for Larios. She suffered serious injuries, including swelling and numbness in her face, forcing her to miss work and struggle with financial obligations as a single mother.

As Sandoval launched his attack, a quick-thinking customer rushed to the worker's aid and ripped the brute away from the woman.

Expressing her fear and frustration, Larios plans to press charges against Sandoval and has turned to a GoFundMe campaign for financial support during her recovery. She condemned Sandoval's violent reaction, emphasizing that the situation could have been resolved peacefully.

The Madera Police Department also condemned Sandoval's behavior, highlighting the unnecessary violence over a sandwich dispute. Larios's plea for help underscores the far-reaching impact of such incidents and the urgent need for justice and support.

The good Samaritan jumped on Sandoval's back and struck him in the face at least three times, allowing the workers to run to safety behind the counter.
