Two victims of a car crash in Mexico baffled bystanders when they crawled out bloodied from the wreckage and decided to take a selfie together just inches from their overturned vehicle.

There were reportedly five women together in the car when it overturned on Saturday.

Harrowing photos from the aftermath of the wreck in Cuernavaca’s Lomas del Mirador neighborhood on Saturday show two of the five women who were reportedly inside the car covered in injuries as they bled on the roadside, Jam Press reported. As they struggled to sit themselves up, one of the bloodied women could be seen holding up her cell phone and appeared to pose for a selfie with her injured friend.

The accident occured in Cuernavaca's Lomas del Mirador neighborhood.

That, however, was not the only snap of their injuries the women took. After the police arrived to help move them away from the wreckage as they waited for medical assistance, the pair could again be seen taking selfies of their injuries.

Officials tried to help move the women away from the crash site, but one of them could barely stand.

The women posed for the snap despite one of them barely being able to walk even with the help of an officer, who set her down on the sidewalk after her legs appeared to give out. Her more able-bodied friend, who had cuts along her face and arms, could be seen walking just fine as she took her phone out to snap the pictures.

The two women, along with the three other occupants, all of whom were not publicly named, were eventually taken to the hospital.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
