Kate Middleton has completed her chemotherapy treatment.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, has announced that she has completed her chemotherapy after undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer following abdominal surgery. In a new YouTube video posted on the Prince and Princess of Wales account, the 42-year-old royal expressed her relief at finishing the treatment, which she has been undergoing for the past nine months.

“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” she shared in the video, which was filmed last month in Norfolk, England. The footage shows her enjoying time in the countryside with her husband, Prince William, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Reflecting on her battle with cancer, Catherine opened up about how challenging the journey has been for her and her family. "The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family," she said, having publicly announced her diagnosis in March. "Life as you know it can change in an instant, and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and the road unknown."

She acknowledged the emotional toll that the illness has taken, particularly for her loved ones. "The cancer journey is complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. It brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything."

Catherine emphasized the importance of gratitude, saying, "This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted—of simply loving and being loved."

Looking ahead, Catherine shared her hopes for the future now that her chemotherapy has ended. "Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus," she said. "Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am, however, looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can."

With renewed hope, she expressed her gratitude for the support she and her family have received: "William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy, and compassion has been truly humbling."

Catherine also had a message of solidarity for those still battling cancer: "To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey — I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness can come light, so let that light shine bright."

This marks the first update on Catherine's health since June when she revealed that she was still undergoing chemotherapy but making progress. At the time, she shared that while there were “good days and bad days,” she was optimistic and focused on her recovery.

Catherine underwent major abdominal surgery in March, after which tests revealed the presence of cancer. She has since undergone preventative chemotherapy, following the advice of her medical team.

Now, as she enters this new phase of healing, the Princess of Wales remains hopeful and committed to her recovery, while continuing to inspire others with her courage and resilience.
