Christina Applegate says she's living 'kind of in hell' after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis

Christina Applegate is bravely discussing her journey with multiple sclerosis, a condition she was diagnosed with in 2021. In an interview with “Good Morning America,” she revealed the challenges of living with the unpredictable and potentially debilitating disease.

Describing her experience as living "kind of in hell," Applegate acknowledged the difficulties of managing her condition, especially in terms of social engagement. However, she expressed gratitude for the support she has received.

At the January Emmys, Applegate received a standing ovation when she appeared on stage with a cane as a surprise presenter. Despite cracking a joke about her condition, she later admitted to feeling overwhelmed and having "blacked out" during the moment.

Accompanied by Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also lives with multiple sclerosis, Applegate discussed their shared experiences and their new podcast, “MeSsy.”

Applegate initially disclosed her diagnosis on social media in 2021 and has since been open about her health journey with fans.

Multiple sclerosis disrupts the flow of information between the brain and body, with symptoms ranging from pain and fatigue to paralysis, as explained by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The condition involves the immune system attacking the body's nerve linings, leading to unpredictable symptoms.
