Colt Ford ‘in stable but critical condition’ after a heart attack following Arizona concert
Country music star Colt Ford is currently in a "stable but critical condition" at a hospital in Arizona after experiencing a heart attack earlier this week, as per a spokesperson for the singer-songwriter.
Ford, 54, suffered the heart attack on Thursday following a performance in Gilbert, Arizona, at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row, and was promptly taken to a medical center in Mesa, according to Ryan Bell, Ford’s manager of publicity.
On Saturday, Bell disclosed that Ford has been moved to the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale for further treatment.
Ford, a multi-platinum artist hailing from Georgia, has made significant contributions to both country and rap music genres.
His 2012 album “Declaration of Independence” garnered five consecutive Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. Additionally, his subsequent record “Thanks for Listening,” released two years later, topped Billboard’s Rap Albums and Independent Albums charts.
In recognition of his talent, Ford received a nomination for an Academy of Country Music Award in 2011 for vocal event of the year, stemming from his performance of the song “Cold Beer” alongside Jamey Johnson.
