Cops reveal new pics of creep who lassoed woman with belt on NYC street before vicious rape

Cops released this photo of a suspect in a May 1 rape in the Bronx.

The NYPD released photos revealing the face of the suspect who appeared masked in disturbing footage from last Thursday's attack. The footage shows the assailant approaching the 45-year-old victim from behind, using a belt to pull her to the ground and causing her to lose consciousness, according to police.

This individual is now the subject of a manhunt following the harrowing attack captured on camera in the Bronx, where a woman was pulled between two cars and sexually assaulted while unconscious.

A man used a belt to choke a woman unconscious and then raped her in the Bronx on May 1, 2024.

In the image, the suspect is seen wearing white sweatpants, a blue GAP sweatshirt, and a white do-rag similar to what covered the attacker's face in the video. The attacker is noted to have cropped hair and also carries a backpack, standing around 5 feet 9 inches tall, as per police descriptions.

The man stands about 5 feet 9 inches tall and was wearing a GAP sweatshirt, according to cops.

The NYPD is relying on this photo to help identify the perpetrator, who reportedly choked the victim into unconsciousness around 3 a.m. on May 1 near East 152nd Street and Third Avenue. The Special Victims Unit of the NYPD is leading the investigation into this violent sexual assault.

Although initially stable, the victim has ceased cooperation with law enforcement, according to police sources.

The man looped the belt around her neck while she was walking on the sidewalk near East 152nd Street and Third Avenue.

This crime is especially concerning given the slight uptick in reported rapes this year compared to the same period in 2023, according to April's crime statistics, with 124 reported incidents this year and a total of 511 reported cases in the city as of May 5, matching last year's figures for the same period.

The suspect hasn't been caught yet
