Customs Officer Killed In Katsina After Allegedly Shooting Passenger To Death
A Customs Officer has been reported killed at Gamjin Makaho village along Dankama road in the Kaita Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Details surrounding his death remain unclear at this time; Sources mentioned that the NCS headquarters had received information about the incident but were awaiting confirmation from its command in the state.
According to news reports, Customs officers on the Katsina-Dankama road attempted to stop a truck carrying passengers to Dankama town, but the driver reportedly refused to comply.
This refusal allegedly led to one of the officers firing at the truck, accidentally hitting a passenger named Bashir Na-Buzuwa. In response, the truck's driver and other passengers reportedly attacked the officer, resulting in his death.
This incident follows a similar event in February, where a teenager lost their life after a J5 Peugeot vehicle driver hit bystanders in the Jibia Local Government Area. The driver, transporting soya beans, panicked upon seeing NCS officials, leading to the tragic accident.
