David Beckham’s Former Assistant Rebecca Loos Reaffirms Past Affair Allegations Against David Beckham
Rebecca Loos, the former assistant to David Beckham, is standing by her past claims of an alleged affair with the soccer star more than 20 years ago. In a new interview, Loos, now 47, stated that she has "stuck to the truth" since initially making the allegations in 2004.
Loos, who worked as Beckham's personal assistant in 2003 following his transfer to Real Madrid, claimed the two had a four-month-long affair while he was married to Victoria Beckham. Beckham, now 49, denied the accusations at the time, calling them “ludicrous” and stating that he was “very happily married.” His representatives have not issued a new comment.
Reflecting on the past, Loos described her decision to speak out as an act of courage, saying she was up against a powerful couple with extensive legal and public relations resources. She insisted that she never exaggerated or lied, believing that truth was her only defense.
According to Loos, she was frequently around Beckham as part of her job, making her the first and last person he saw each day. She alleged that Victoria was out of town when Beckham invited her to a hotel, a moment she now describes as “giving in” to his advances. She recalled a turning point at a birthday party for Brazilian footballer Ronaldo, where Beckham was seen with another woman, leading her to realize she had been “massively played.”
Loos said she decided to speak publicly after reports of an affair began circulating in British media, believing it was better to tell her side of the story rather than let speculation control the narrative. She noted that while both she and Victoria faced public scrutiny, Beckham himself was largely shielded from criticism, something she now sees as unfair.
In the 2023 Netflix documentary Beckham, David and Victoria reflected on challenges in their marriage during his time at Real Madrid, though they did not mention Loos by name. Victoria described that period as “the most unhappy I’ve ever been in my entire life,” while David admitted they felt like they were “drowning” under media pressure.
Loos said that the intense public backlash affected her mental health but that she initially resisted acknowledging the trauma. Over time, she has worked to recover and has since transitioned to a career as a certified yoga and meditation teacher. She is also a medical assistant.
David and Victoria Beckham, who have been married since 1999, share four children—Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
