Delta Nursing Students Reject Attempt to Praise First Lady During Visit (Video)

Students of the Delta State School of Nursing, Agbor, openly rejected an attempt to hail Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, during her visit to the institution. The event took place on Tuesday as part of her advocacy efforts for free HIV/AIDS treatment programs across the country.
During her visit, the First Lady addressed the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council in Asaba, emphasizing the impact of HIV/AIDS on young people. She called on traditional rulers to raise awareness and support health initiatives, including efforts to combat female genital mutilation.
However, a viral video from the event captured an unexpected moment when the Master of Ceremony (MC) attempted to lead the audience in a song praising the First Lady. Singing, “Na my mama be this o, we no get another one,” he was met with a contrasting response from the students, who instead replied, “Na your mama be this ooooo.”
The reaction has sparked discussions online, with many interpreting it as a reflection of growing dissatisfaction with the federal government. President Bola Tinubu’s administration has faced increasing criticism over economic policies, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira, which many believe have exacerbated economic hardship across the country.
