Delta Passenger Shares Shocking In-Flight Incident: Poop Mishap Causes Chaos
A Delta passenger recently took to Reddit to share a horrifying experience on a flight where a fellow traveler had a "poop accident" mid-flight, resulting in a foul odor throughout the cabin.
Posting in a Delta Reddit thread, the man recounted the incident on Thursday, explaining that a passenger in first class had a bowel mishap that quickly spread an unbearable stench. Distressed passengers demanded that the flight attendant clean up the mess, but the man intervened, insisting that it was not her job to handle such a situation.
“I approached her and told her that it was not her job, and she was doing a great job under the circumstances,” he wrote. He also shared a photo of a note the grateful flight attendant gave him as he disembarked.
“I apologize that your first-class flight wasn’t as pleasant as it should always be. Thank you for your understanding. I sent you some miles. Thank you for being a million miler,” the note read. The man mentioned he later contacted management to commend the flight attendant’s professionalism in a stressful situation.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time airline passengers have encountered such unpleasant experiences. Last month, a United Airlines flight bound for Seattle diverted to Dallas after a dog had a "messy accident" in the aisle, causing a significant delay as the ground crew spent over two hours cleaning up.
Earlier this year, another Delta passenger detailed a Christmas Eve flight where a fellow traveler soiled their pants, leaving excrement smeared across the seat, a story that quickly went viral on Reddit.
In September, a Delta flight from Atlanta to Barcelona made headlines when it was forced to turn around after a passenger suffered from severe diarrhea, causing a "biohazard issue." The Airbus A350 was two hours into its transatlantic journey when the pilot requested to return to Atlanta.
“This is a biohazard issue,” the pilot told air traffic control, as recorded by LiveATC.com and shared on social media. “We’ve had a passenger who’s had diarrhea all the way through the airplane, so they want us to come back to Atlanta.”
A Delta spokesperson later issued a statement: “Our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to thoroughly clean the airplane and get our customers to their final destination. We sincerely apologize to our customers for the delay and inconvenience to their travel plans.”
