Driver chases pedestrian with car unto NYC sidewalk in wild road-rage incident: video

The driver of a white sedan mounted the sidewalk on West 39th Street in Midtown Manhattan on Monday

A furious driver in New York City has been captured on video driving his car onto a Manhattan sidewalk before pursuing a pedestrian in a chaotic road-rage incident.

The incident took place on West 39th Street near Seventh Avenue on Monday, according to footage shared by the What Is New York Instagram account.

The driver chased after the shirtless pedestrian (right) before jumping out of his car.

The driver was recorded maneuvering his white sedan onto the sidewalk, directly in front of a shirtless pedestrian, causing two large trash cans to topple over in the process. When the pedestrian walked away, the driver reversed his car and drove onto the sidewalk again, causing frightened bystanders to scatter.

At one point, the enraged driver plowed down a bike lane on West 39th Street before mounting the sidewalk again.

The driver was then filmed racing down a bike lane while the shirtless pedestrian ran away on foot. Shortly after, both men were seen engaging in a heated argument after the driver parked his car in the middle of the sidewalk and exited the vehicle.

At one point, someone can be heard repeatedly urging, “Call the cops, call the cops right now.”

The exact cause of the road-rage incident was not immediately clear.

Onlookers scrambled as the scene unfolded.
