Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, Stresses Faith and Acceptance of Destiny in Sermon

The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, emphasized the importance of faith, patience, and acceptance of destiny during his sermon at the Kofar Kudu Central Mosque in Kano, where he led the Juma’at prayer.

In his sermon, the Emir underscored the belief that everything comes from Allah and that His decisions should be accepted without question. "Whoever believes that Allah alone gives everything must take His decision wholeheartedly. No one asks Allah’s reasons for anything," he said. He stressed that accepting destiny as part of one's faith is crucial and that gratitude should be shown in both good and bad times.

“We are fast approaching Zhul Hijja, which is very beneficial; and we must observe supplications these days,” he added, highlighting the significance of the upcoming holy period.

Following the sermon and leading the prayers, Emir Sanusi returned to the palace.

In a parallel development, the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, conducted his Friday prayer at the Nasarawa mini palace, joined by many supporters and followers. This comes amidst ongoing confusion over the emirate's leadership, with both Sanusi and Ado Bayero claiming the throne.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf recently dethroned Ado Bayero, giving him 48 hours to hand over. However, Ado Bayero returned to the city under military protection and has been operating from the mini palace.

The Kano State Police Command dismissed rumors that Ado Bayero would lead Jumma’t prayers at the Kofar Kudu Central Mosque, where Emir Sanusi was present.

Commissioner of Police Usaini Gumel disclosed that five conflicting court orders related to the emirate dispute have been received and forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation for legal advice. Gumel emphasized that the police, as a law-abiding institution, cannot interpret these orders.

At an emergency meeting with media executives, CP Gumel urged journalists to maintain professionalism and caution in their reporting to prevent any breakdown of law and order in Kano during the ongoing tussle.
