Authorities began investigating Wingerter in early March following complaints about her behavior with male students. She taught at Slidell High School, a public institution with approximately 1,700 students.

Through interviews and search warrants, investigators discovered that Wingerter had been sending inappropriate photos and messages to students via social media. Additionally, sources revealed that she provided alcohol to underage students at local bars. Most concerning, evidence indicated that Wingerter had a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old male student while she was his teacher.

We have strict policies in place to ensure that any behavior compromising the safety of our students is not tolerated. We will continue to prioritize the safety of our students above all else.”

Wingerter faces charges related to prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student, as well as the unlawful purchase of alcoholic beverages on behalf of a person under 21, according to WDSU.
