A Florida man, Timothy Joseph Kramer, 51, has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder after allegedly shooting and killing his estranged wife, Rosa Maria Kramer, 47, and wounding their dog at their former shared home. Kramer is also facing a charge of animal cruelty.

The incident occurred early on July 23 at their residence on Hillcrest Avenue in Pensacola. According to an arrest report, Rosa Maria Kramer had gone to the home to collect her belongings. When she failed to return to her father's house, where she had been living since leaving her husband two weeks earlier, her family grew concerned.

Escambia County deputies initially responded to a missing person report at a mobile home park, where they spoke with Rosa Kramer’s sister. The sister explained that Rosa had left early that morning to retrieve her things but did not return as expected.

Suspicious Facebook messages purportedly from Rosa claimed she was at the beach, despite it being highly unusual for her to go there, especially when she had plans to take her father to a doctor’s appointment. The sister’s concern intensified when a message from Rosa stated, "He did nothing but give me my stuff and left," referring to Timothy Kramer.

Deputies went to the Hillcrest home, noting freshly disturbed earth and tire tracks leading into the backyard. Neighbors reported seeing Timothy Kramer park his truck there an hour before Rosa arrived.

Rosa Kramer had intended to gather her belongings and leave before Timothy returned home from work. Her father had warned her about Timothy’s threats to harm himself and his unstable behavior.

Unable to locate Rosa via phone pings, authorities tracked Timothy Kramer’s phone to an apartment complex in Milton, over 20 miles away. There, they found Timothy with his sister, who revealed that he had confessed to shooting Rosa in the head.

Investigators discovered Rosa Kramer’s vehicle abandoned near the Hillcrest home. At the residence, they found blood evidence leading to the back bedroom, where Rosa’s body lay. She had been shot twice, with one bullet entering and exiting her head.

Timothy Kramer was arrested and booked with suspected blood on his jeans. He had told his sister a "fictitious" story of self-defense, urging her to hide him and lie about his whereabouts. Despite her urging him to contact law enforcement, she became suspicious when he failed to provide any official documentation.

Timothy Kramer remains held without bail at the Escambia County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on August 16.
