Florida Woman, 20, Jumps Off Pier to Escape Arrest After Being Caught Having Sex in Public
A Florida woman attempted a dramatic escape by diving into the water after being caught having sex on a public pier in Naples, authorities reported.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, when 20-year-old Allyssia Razo and 23-year-old Zadok Westfield were discovered in flagrante behind a locked gate on the historic Naples Pier during the busy Memorial Day holiday. Despite officers' commands to stay put, Razo jumped into the water but was quickly picked up by beach patrol upon reaching the shore, according to a police report.
The Naples Police Department received multiple reports around 4:30 p.m. about a man and woman engaging in sexual activity on the pier. When officers arrived, Razo and Westfield were still in the act. As they scrambled to dress, Razo jumped off the pier, while Westfield, completely naked, remained at the scene. He explained to officers that they had swum to the end of the pier intending to jump off, but ended up having sex instead.
A witness, who was at the beach with her four children aged 7 to 15, reported seeing the couple naked and engaging in sexual activity. She stated that her children were asking questions about what they were witnessing.
Both Razo and Westfield were charged with trespassing and disturbing the peace. Razo also faced an additional charge of resisting arrest without violence. They were taken into custody and released on bond the same day.
The iconic Naples Pier, which extends about 1,000 feet into the Gulf of Mexico, has only been partially open to visitors since it was severely damaged by Hurricane Ian in 2022.
