Former Miss Switzerland Finalist Strangled, Dismembered by Husband in Grisly Murder

Swiss authorities have revealed shocking details about the brutal murder of Kristina Joksimovic, a 38-year-old former Miss Switzerland finalist, who was strangled and dismembered by her husband in February. Her 41-year-old husband, identified only as "Thomas" in local reports, is in custody after confessing to the crime.

Joksimovic, who was found dead in her home in Binningen, near Basel, had her body dismembered using a jigsaw, knife, and garden shears. According to Swiss outlet BZ Basel, the investigation uncovered that parts of her body were later “pureed” in a blender and dissolved in chemicals.

Thomas, who initially claimed he found his wife dead and panicked, later admitted to killing her, stating it was in self-defense after she allegedly attacked him. However, medical experts found no signs of a struggle, determining her cause of death to be strangulation.

In a court ruling on Wednesday, new details emerged about Thomas’s "lack of empathy" and "cold-bloodedness" as prosecutors shared that he had previously choked Joksimovic and displayed violent tendencies. A former partner had also accused him of slamming her head into a wall.

Joksimovic was crowned Miss Northwest Switzerland and was a finalist in the Miss Switzerland pageant in 2007. She later became a successful catwalk coach, mentoring Miss Universe contestant Dominique Rinderknecht in 2013.

Friends and former colleagues, including ex-Miss Switzerland Christa Rigozzi, expressed their shock and grief over her death, remembering her as a "beautiful and kind-hearted woman."

Joksimovic and Thomas had portrayed a picture-perfect family on social media, living in a luxurious home with their two daughters. Just weeks before her murder, they posted about a romantic getaway to Lake Lucerne.
