A drive-by shooting wounded six people, including four children, outside apartments on Las Vegas Trail in west Fort Worth on Wednesday night, May 1, 2024.

"It makes me angry, I am mad," Noakes stated. "There is absolutely no reason anybody should be conducting themselves in such a violent, careless, heartless way that children should be shot." Noakes reassured the public that the shooting seemed to be an isolated incident and that there was no ongoing threat.

According to Perez, the wounded individuals ranged in age from 3 to 19 and were targeted by someone in a passing vehicle while they were outside the apartment complex. The exact ages of all the victims had not been determined by the police at the time of Perez's statement.
