French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France will provide an additional €2 billion in military assistance to Ukraine. The declaration came during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris on March 26.

The new aid package will include anti-tank missiles, surface-to-air missiles, and drones, further reinforcing Ukraine’s defense capabilities. Macron also urged Russia to agree to a 30-day ceasefire without any preconditions, stressing that ongoing negotiations with the U.S. to end the war have been hindered by Moscow’s shifting demands, which he characterized as evidence of a continued "will for war."

Macron stated that it remains "too early" to discuss the possibility of lifting sanctions against Moscow. His remarks coincide with growing international efforts to pressure Russia into de-escalation.

Zelensky’s visit to Paris comes ahead of a planned meeting of the "coalition of the willing," a group of countries potentially prepared to send troops to Ukraine to enforce a ceasefire if an agreement is reached. The Ukrainian leader accused Russia of demonstrating no real commitment to peace, citing recent Russian drone attacks on Ukraine.

"Such large-scale attacks after ceasefire talks send a clear signal to the world that Moscow does not seek genuine peace," Zelensky stated.
