French-American rapper Lucas Coly has passed away at the age of 27, as confirmed by his manager on Thursday, October 3rd. Coly, best known for his viral 2016 hit single "I Just Wanna," made a significant impact in the music world with his unique style and sound.

The news of Coly's death was shared through an Instagram story by his agency, I Discover Stars, which expressed deep sorrow: “I’m going to be in mourning... My brother is gone. Don’t wait until someone dies to give them their flowers.” In a now-deleted statement, Coly's manager shared his grief, writing, “There is a hole in my heart right now.” He also noted, “Being your manager was one of the reasons I stayed here. Honestly, Lucas, it hasn’t set in yet because I refuse to believe you are gone.”

As of now, the cause of Coly's death has not been disclosed.

Fans and followers took to social media to mourn the rapper’s untimely passing. In heartfelt comments, many expressed their sadness and disbelief. "Absolute tragedy," wrote one fan. "Such a young soul at 27... all the talent and drive... gone, but never forgotten. Rest in power, King Lucas.” Another commented, “I’m crying all the way from London. His music connected with my soul in ways I can’t explain. I can’t believe this has happened.”

Concern arose following one of Coly's last Instagram story posts, which reportedly read, "I love y'all," leaving many fans worried. His final post on his main Instagram feed featured the rapper in a red tracksuit.

In tribute to Coly, his agency released a short track titled “Just Pray,” dedicating it to the late rapper. "May God give you the peace you deserve. Rest easy, my brother," one fan wrote in response.

Born in France, Lucas Coly moved to the United States at the age of eight. He initially gained popularity on Vine, where he began sharing his music. In a 2017 interview with DJ Small Eyez, Coly expressed his hopes of incorporating more French into his music to connect with his global fanbase. “I got French fans, I got fans in other countries, so I got to come home now,” he said.

Reflecting on his past struggles, Coly admitted that he “barely” graduated from school and was driven solely by his passion for music. "I just want to rap. If it’s not music, I don’t want to do anything else," he said.

Lucas Coly leaves behind a legacy of music that touched fans across the world, and he will be deeply missed.
