Harare Man Beaten and Thrown Out Naked After Confronting Wife Over Used Condoms

A Harare man’s birthday turned into a nightmare after he discovered used condoms in his bedroom—only to be assaulted and thrown out of his home by bouncers allegedly hired by his wife.
Kenias Zimbwa revealed at the Harare Civil Court that his wife, Chipiwa Taruona, enlisted two men, including her soldier brother, to attack him. The bouncers allegedly beat him, left him bruised, and threw him out of the house naked.
“I came home on my birthday to find used condoms under my bed. When I confronted her, she hired bouncers to attack me. They assaulted me, leaving me with bruises, and threw me out while I was naked. She has also attacked me with a screwdriver four times,” he told the court.
Zimbwa further claimed his wife had been denying him marital rights for months while engaging in extramarital affairs.
“I was hurt to know that my wife has been having extramarital affairs after starving me of sex for months. She does not cook for me and I am forced to sleep without a blanket or rather on the floor. I am scared that she will end up killing me, I wish the court could protect me.”
In her defense, Chipiwa admitted to hiring the bouncers but claimed it was in retaliation, accusing Zimbwa of years of abuse.
“My husband is in the habit of sexually abusing me for years. I hired people to attack him,” she told the court.
The magistrate ruled in Chipiwa’s favor, granting her a protection order and advising Zimbwa to file his own application if he felt threatened.
