I’m a mom who breastfed my husband — now we want a fourth child so he can do it again
A Florida woman, Rachel Bailey, 31, and her husband, Alexander, 30, strengthened their bond through an unconventional method: breastfeeding. However, their unique connection was disrupted when their youngest son stopped breastfeeding, leading Rachel to cease producing breast milk. She expressed a sense of loss, describing it as a period of "grieving" for their nontraditional bonding experience.
Rachel recounted that she breastfed both her son and her husband until her son lost interest in breast milk entirely. Despite continuing to breastfeed Alexander for two more weeks, Rachel noticed that her body adjusted to her son's decreased need for milk, and her supply eventually ceased.
Feeling the absence of their breastfeeding bond, the couple briefly considered having a fourth child to rekindle the experience. However, they reconsidered, realizing it was a drastic measure. Instead, they opted to explore alternative ways to connect and deepen their bond as a couple.
The couple now starts their day at 5 a.m., dedicating time to meditate and spend quality moments together before the demands of the day unfold. Rachel shared that these early morning sessions have brought them calmness and closeness, contributing positively to their relationship. Additionally, they ventured into joint business endeavors, finding joy and connection in their shared professional pursuits.
Rachel has encountered unusual requests and inquiries since sharing her breastfeeding experience, including offers to purchase her breast milk and requests for breastfeeding videos. Despite these requests, Rachel emphasized that their breastfeeding practice was never sexual and was solely about bonding and sharing something special as a couple.
