Indian Teenager Sets Guinness World Record for Hairiest Face

An 18-year-old from Madhya Pradesh, India, has set a Guinness World Record for having the hairiest face on a man. Lalit Patidar, who has a rare condition called hypertrichosis, or “werewolf syndrome,” has nearly 202 hairs per square centimeter on his face, covering over 95 percent of it.

Hypertrichosis, commonly referred to as "werewolf syndrome," is an extremely rare condition that causes excessive hair growth anywhere on the body. It can affect both men and women, with symptoms appearing at birth or developing later in life. The abnormal hair growth can range from small patches to full-body coverage, often drawing curiosity and misconceptions.

Patidar, one of only around 50 documented cases of hypertrichosis worldwide since the Middle Ages, has embraced his unique appearance despite facing challenges as a child. He recalled that his first day of school was difficult, as other children were initially frightened, but they eventually accepted him once they got to know him.

He recently traveled to Milan, where his record was officially confirmed. Upon receiving the title, he expressed his excitement, saying, “I am speechless. I don’t know what to say because I am very happy to get this recognition.”

Lalit is firm in his beliefs: “I like how I am, and I don’t want to change my look.”

While some people have suggested he remove his facial hair, Patidar remains confident in his appearance. “I like how I am, and I don’t want to change my look,” he stated.

He has gained a significant following on social media, with 265,000 followers on Instagram and 108,000 subscribers on YouTube, where he shares glimpses of his daily life.
