Indiana Man Allegedly Stabs Son to Death Over Dirty Dishes Argument
An Indiana man allegedly stabbed his son in the heart during an argument over dirty dishes, according to police.
Timothy Ray Lisby, 59, faces an initial charge of aggravated battery and is being held without bond, per Marion County Jail records. However, a family friend who witnessed the fatal altercation involving 31-year-old Christopher Allen Lisby on June 14 believes Timothy should face murder charges. The case has since been turned over to homicide detectives.
Jeremiah Green, who witnessed the incident, recounted that the argument began over dirty dishes in the sink. The dispute escalated, leading to a physical struggle inside their mobile home in Indianapolis.
“Tim had a spoon in his hand and started stabbing Chris with it,” Green told Fox 59. “Chris said, ‘Jeremiah, get the spoon out of his hand,’ so I did.” Green then described how the elder Lisby grabbed another weapon: “Tim ran into the kitchen, grabbed something shiny and sharp, and thrust it into Chris’s chest as hard as he could.”
Green immediately called 911. When Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived, they found Christopher Lisby with a “bleeding wound to the chest” in the living room, according to an affidavit obtained by Law & Crime. Christopher was rushed to a nearby hospital where he initially stabilized after surgery on his heart but succumbed to his injuries the next day.
After realizing the severity of the situation, Timothy Lisby attempted to render first aid to his son. “He was putting pressure on Chris and saying, ‘Don’t die. Don’t die,'” Green recounted. Despite his efforts, the injuries were too severe.
Green, devastated by the loss of his friend, vowed to testify against Timothy Lisby in court. “Chris was my friend. I loved him to death,” he said. “When he stabbed Chris in the heart, it’s like he stabbed mine. He killed the only friend I have in the world. He’s gonna pay for what he did.”
Timothy Ray Lisby is scheduled to appear in court on June 21.
