Kidnappers Establish over 55 Kidnapping Camps Across Southwest - Prince Eniola Ojajuni

The recently released Afenifere National Youth President, Eniola Ojajuni, has revealed the existence of at least 55 kidnapping camps strategically positioned across the South-West region of Nigeria.
Ojajuni, who was held captive for 12 days, disclosed that the majority of these camps are located in Ondo State, followed by Ekiti, Osun, and Ogun states. He urged authorities to conduct thorough security operations across forests in Edo, Ondo, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti, and Lagos states to dismantle these criminal networks.
During his time in captivity, Ojajuni recounted how the kidnappers openly discussed plans to escalate abductions, particularly in Ondo and Lagos states. He emphasized the urgent need for heightened intelligence and security efforts to address the growing threat.

According to his account, Ondo State hosts 27 camps, Ekiti State has 16, Osun has seven, and Ogun has five. He further revealed that the kidnappers had detailed plans for operations along the Sagamu–Ijebu Ode Road near Oso-Sa Ijebu, which they discussed prior to his abduction.
Ojajuni was kidnapped on February 17, 2025, while traveling from Ondo State to Abuja, sparking widespread concern. During his captivity, images and videos surfaced showing him pleading for help, with the kidnappers demanding a ransom of N100 million.
In response, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, deployed officers from the Intelligence Response Team, leading to Ojajuni’s release.
Following his freedom, he has called on South-West leaders to take decisive action to combat the security crisis and prevent further abductions in the region.
