Lady who left 4-day-old baby for wealthier Nigerian man shares her reasons

Andanje, a prominent TikTok figure in Kenya, recently sparked widespread attention by divulging a heartrending tale of his wife abandoning him with their four-day-old infant to pursue a relationship with a wealthier Nigerian man. The revelation rippled through social media platforms, captivating audiences across the country.

In a poignant series of videos, Andanje bared his soul while cradling his newborn amidst the strains of gospel music, painting a vivid picture of his emotional turmoil. Meanwhile, his wife, identified as @Agum.muga on TikTok, responded to his posts, advising him to shoulder the responsibility of raising their child alone.

In a subsequent interview with local YouTubers, Agum Muga provided a candid account of the events leading to her departure from her husband and relinquishment of parental responsibilities. Recounting the origins of their relationship, she revealed its genesis during an unexpected encounter on a journey to Nairobi. Despite the ensuing pregnancy, she confessed that her feelings for her husband were fleeting, driven more by infatuation than genuine affection.

"We met in a car on our way to Nairobi. After a few weeks, we started dating, and things happened; I got pregnant. As for loving him, it was just infatuation, nothing more. Abortion wasn't an option. Circumstances pushed me; we couldn't afford it. He lost his job, and I wasn't working at the time. We decided to have the baby, but I made it clear I'd give birth and hand him the baby," she recounted.

Financial constraints and a lack of stability ultimately dictated her decision to sever ties with her husband, a choice she now regrets, acknowledging her lack of pride in her actions and her surprise at her husband's public response. Reflecting on her emotional state during pregnancy, Agum Muga admitted to being swept up in infatuation, neglecting the long-term consequences of her decisions.

Her relationship with the Nigerian man, she disclosed, had evolved over several years, initially rooted in a professional association. Despite her pregnancy, he remained supportive and patient, willing to wait until she was ready to rekindle their connection.

"The Nigerian has been supportive in many ways. We've known each other for a few years. He was initially my boss, then a friend, and eventually, we started dating. He knew I was pregnant. Based on our connection, he was willing to wait for me to give birth, leave the child, and then resume our relationship. He's fine wherever he is," she revealed.

While her family expressed concern, Agum Muga asserted her autonomy and prioritized her happiness, content in the knowledge that her child was in capable hands with his father, allowing her to focus on forging her path forward.
