Lawyer fatally shoots ex-daughter-in law, fellow attorney in Las Vegas law firm

A prominent Las Vegas attorney, Dennis Prince, along with his wife, Ashley Prince, were tragically killed in a shooting at the Prince Law Group offices in Summerlin on Monday.

The incident occurred during a deposition when another attorney, identified as Joseph Houston, opened fire before taking his own life. Sources confirmed that Ashley Prince was Houston's former daughter-in-law.

The shooting took place during a custody case deposition involving Ashley and Houston's son, Dylan, who filed for divorce in 2021. Dennis Prince was representing his wife in the case.

Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill reported that the shooting happened around 10 am at the law firm's fifth-floor offices. Hundreds of occupants followed active shooter protocols and were safely evacuated.

Dennis Prince was recognized as one of the state's top trial lawyers and had received accolades such as being named Nevada Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2016. He had a remarkable career, trying over 100 cases to jury verdicts.

The GGRM Law Firm, where Prince was a founding member, expressed shock and sadness over the couple's loss, describing Dennis as a mentor and advocate for justice, and Ashley as a person of kindness and compassion.

The incident has deeply impacted the legal community and those who knew the Princes, leaving many in shock and mourning.
