Makinde suspends Oyo monarch
The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has sanctioned the suspension of Oba Gbolagade Babalola (Gbadewolu I), the traditional ruler of Ido town in Ido Local Government Area of the state, from his position as the Onido of Ido.
This decision was communicated in a letter dated February 2, 2024, and made public on Friday by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Olusegun Olayiwola.
The letter, signed by Olayiwola, conveyed that Governor Makinde endorsed the suspension on February 1, 2024. However, the official statement did not elaborate on the specific reasons or the duration of the suspension.
