Man jailed for 22 years for making testicle salad then eating it

A man known as ‘The Eunuch Maker’ has been sentenced to 22 years in jail for orchestrating illegal castrations and streaming them on the dark web. Marius Gustavson, 46, led a group in Kensington, London, that performed unauthorized genital surgeries on at least 29 individuals, capturing the procedures on film and broadcasting them on his ‘Eunuch Maker’ website for paying subscribers, generating over £300,000 in six years.

Gustavson, who is wheelchair-bound due to a leg amputation, also underwent genital removal procedures himself, including his own penis and one nipple, conducted by a male escort. He stored his amputated body parts, along with those from others, in his home in Tottenham, London, maintaining a freezer with various human body parts, including severed testicles. The court heard of instances where he cooked and ate human testicles and kept other body parts as ‘trophies.’

The operations were described as ‘gruesome and grisly,’ involving extreme body modification to create ‘nullos’ by removing genitals, a practice linked to a subculture. Gustavson was found guilty of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm, causing grievous bodily harm, possessing criminal property, and making and distributing indecent videos of a child.

Gustavson’s spiral into criminality was reportedly triggered by the end of his marriage, leading to an addiction to body modification. He was diagnosed with body identity integrity disorder, contributing to his obsession with performing and receiving extreme surgeries.

Assisting Gustavson were eight others, including a surgeon, surgical assistants, and a male escort, who pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm. They participated in removing Gustavson’s body parts and conducting surgeries on other victims. Notable among them was male escort Damien Byres, 36, who received a five-year jail term for cutting off Gustavson’s penis as part of a ‘bucket list’ act, captured in disturbing video footage shown in court.

The group operated a paid subscription service with over 22,000 subscribers, showcasing the surgeries and amputations on the Eunuch Maker website. The Crown Prosecution Service emphasized that even though victims consented to surgeries, they suffered lasting regret and trauma, highlighting the unlawfulness and cruelty of such practices.

Kate Mulholland from the Crown Prosecution Service warned against extreme body modifications, affirming that they are illegal, and vowed to prosecute such crimes rigorously. Gustavson’s severe sentence serves as a deterrent against such inhumane acts.
