A Maryland social media video creator tragically recorded the sound of gunfire that killed her brother, a promising boxer and young father, while filming a makeup tutorial on Monday night.

Rebecca Olugbemi was showcasing a skincare product on camera around 9:45 p.m. when gunshots rang out, halting her in mid-sentence as her eyes widened in shock. The video, shared by an NBC Washington reporter, captures the harrowing moment.

Rebecca soon discovered that the gunfire had fatally wounded her 27-year-old brother, Isaiah Olugbemi, outside their Odenton home. Anne Arundel police reported that Isaiah suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.

Isaiah had recently won a Golden Gloves national championship at 203 pounds and aspired to become a professional boxer. “My brother was a great father, a great man,” his brother Daniel Olugbemi told NBC Washington. “He just wanted to be nothing but a great boxer.”

Isaiah's other passion in life was caring for his 2-year-old son.

Isaiah was also devoted to his 2-year-old son. “He always looked out for everyone and made sure that everyone was good,” Rebecca said. “He was just a hard worker. Anything that he wanted, he went after it.”

The day after the shooting, police arrested the Olugbemis’ neighbor, 36-year-old Nicholas Giroux, and charged him with first- and second-degree murder. Authorities believe the killing was targeted, and the family noted previous confrontations with Giroux.

The shooting occurred outside of the family's home in Odenton.

Giroux is scheduled for a bond hearing on Thursday. “I don’t know what justice would look like, honestly,” Rebecca said. “I don’t know if there’s anything that could be done that would make it any better.”

The killing appeared to be targeted, according to police and the family said that Giroux had been confrontational to them before.
