A 23-year-old music producer from Maryland was found dead on the shoreline of Paradise Island in the Bahamas, just hours after reportedly being involved in an altercation at a five-star resort.

Dinari McAlmont, known professionally as “Diddy,” had traveled to the Bahamas on Friday with his parents for a family vacation and was staying at the Atlantis resort near Nassau, the capital city. According to family members, less than 12 hours after their arrival, McAlmont’s body was discovered early Saturday morning along the shoreline with "no vital life signs."

An investigation has been launched by Bahamian authorities, and Royal Bahamas Police Force Commissioner Shanta Knowles confirmed that an autopsy is pending. The official cause of death has not yet been determined.

McAlmont was last seen leaving dinner at the resort around 9 p.m. to retrieve a coat and explore the property. His parents said resort officials later came to their room inquiring about his whereabouts. Staff reportedly accused McAlmont of spitting on several restaurant employees.

“The police said they were looking for him because apparently he spat on some staff in a restaurant,” said Michelle McAlmont, Dinari’s mother. She stated that she could not independently confirm the allegation made by hotel staff.

As the family tried to reach McAlmont, they noted that his phone location was no longer tracking. After searching the resort with no success, they filed a missing person report. Later, resort staff returned to inform them that his body had been found.

Upon identifying her son from a photograph shown by investigators, Michelle McAlmont described his face as appearing “traumatized,” with sand in his hair and teeth. She claimed his injuries suggested he had been "beaten down in the sand" and is now demanding answers. “I need justice for my baby,” she said tearfully.

The Atlantis resort issued a statement expressing condolences and confirming cooperation with law enforcement: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of one of our guests. Our thoughts and condolences are with the guest’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. This is an active police investigation, and we are fully cooperating.”

McAlmont was a beloved member of Lowcation Studios in Brentwood, Maryland, where he worked under the name Diddy. In a statement, the studio paid tribute to his dedication, warmth, and creative spirit.

“Diddy was more than an engineer to us, he was a great friend and an all-around incredible individual. He was deeply passionate about his work and always committed to bringing the ideas of artists to life. He was a true team player, always stepping up to lend an extra hand when needed and making sure to keep all of us laughing during team meetings.

“It’s hard to imagine life in general and life at the studio without him. Diddy will be deeply missed by his friends, his family, and all of us at Lowcation Studios, but he will forever be a part of our family, story, and legacy. This studio would not be where it is without him and I will always have the utmost respect and love for him.”

The investigation into McAlmont’s death remains ongoing.
