Mbappe to join Real Madrid at end of season, reports say

France captain Kylian Mbappe is set to join LaLiga powerhouse Real Madrid when his contract with Paris St Germain concludes at the end of the season, as reported by Le Parisien and ESPN on Saturday.

Having declared last year that he would not renew his contract with the Ligue 1 side, expiring at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, Mbappe is poised to make a free transfer to another club.

According to sources from Le Parisien and ESPN, the 25-year-old striker is expected to announce a pre-contract agreement with the 14-time European champions next week.

Previous reports in September indicated that Mbappe had decided to forgo loyalty bonuses of up to 100 million euros ($107.84 million) to leave PSG as a free agent.

While heavily linked with a move to Real in 2022, Mbappe ultimately extended his contract with PSG just weeks before the transfer window opened.
