Güler Erdoğan, a 27-year-old model and beauty queen who held the title of "Miss Europe-Kosovo," tragically died after falling from a 50-foot bridge and being struck by a car on a motorway in Giresun, Turkey. The incident occurred on April 1, following an encounter with police.
Erdoğan had reportedly attempted to drive home after a night out and was stopped at a police checkpoint, where a breathalyser test showed her blood alcohol level was 1.70mg/100ml—more than three times the legal limit. Upon realizing the consequences she might face, she fled her vehicle on foot. In an attempt to evade authorities, she ran toward an overpass, where she lost her balance and fell onto a six-lane motorway. She was then struck by an oncoming car.

Emergency services responded quickly, but Erdoğan was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Güler Erdoğan was signed with several major modeling agencies and had gained recognition in the fashion and pageant world. Following her death, all content was removed from her Instagram account and replaced with a family statement:
"Do not believe the false news and information regarding the death of our daughter, sister, and friend Güler Erdoğan. Our sister lost her life as a result of a tragic accident. As her family, we were by her side at the time of the incident."

The news comes just months after the death of Australian model and DJ Courtney Mills, who died at the age of 37 after falling from a balcony while visiting Bali in January. Mills, who had been living in Melbourne with her parents after spending years in Bali, suffered critical injuries in the fall and died in the hospital days later after multiple surgeries. Her mother, Diane Mayne, paid tribute, saying, “She was beautiful, big-hearted, happy, and go-lucky.”
