Murder Trial: Chidinma confessed to spiking Ataga's drink, says witness.

During the ongoing alleged murder trial of Chidinma Ojukwu, DSP Olusegun Bamidele, a prosecution witness, shared on Monday at the Tafawa Balewa Square's Lagos State High Court that they discovered the Super TV CEO Michael Ataga's drink was spiked during the investigation.

Chidinma Ojukwu, a Mass Communication student at the University of Lagos in her 300-level, is being tried for the alleged offense along with Adedapo Quadri and her sister, Chioma Egbuchu.

At the previous court date, Bamidele informed the court that during his investigation, Ojukwu admitted to spiking Ataga's drink, and the witness believed her confession.

However, during Monday's hearing, Quadri's lawyer, Mr. Babatunde Busari, cross-examined Bamidele and asked him to point out where in the statements of the first and second defendants it was written that the deceased's drink was spiked before his death.

Bamidele replied that it was established during the investigation.

The witness also informed the court that Ojukwu and the deceased smoked some substance and had alcoholic drinks together. He mentioned that after finishing the first set, the deceased and Ojukwu ordered more sets of the substance. According to Bamidele, the first defendant revealed this information in her statement. He added that a dispatch rider delivered the additional substance that Ojukwu and the late Ataga smoked.
