Mysterious Illness Strikes Passengers on United Flight After Cruise Trip
A United Airlines flight from Vancouver, British Columbia to Texas was marked by an unusual incident when dozens of passengers reported feeling unwell after disembarking from a cruise ship. The flight landed at Houston’s Bush Airport around 6:20 p.m. on Friday, with approximately 30 passengers exhibiting signs of illness, as reported by ABC 13.
The affected passengers were part of a travel group of 75 individuals who had just completed a cruise trip. They reported symptoms akin to the flu, including nausea. The cruise line with which they had traveled was not immediately identified. United Airlines did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.
Upon landing, emergency medical services from the Houston Fire Department were on hand to evaluate three passengers. Fortunately, none required hospitalization. The flight, according to Fox 26, had 163 passengers and six crew members on board.
United Airlines issued a statement saying it would conduct a thorough cleaning of the aircraft before it is returned to service. The airline stated, “Several passengers on United Flight 1528 from Vancouver to Houston, who had been on the same cruise, reported feeling unwell. United Airlines is actively working with health authorities to address the situation. As a precaution, the aircraft will be taken out of service and undergo a deep cleaning before it is returned to service.”
The airline emphasized that the health and safety of its passengers and crew is its top priority.
